Bradbury Manor is a residential care home which provides planned and emergency short term respite care for up to 10 people with a learning difficulty, some of whom have additional physical needs.
The garden at Bradbury Manor had, over a long period of time, become very overgrown with weeds and other issues. Fortunately CUDS (Clean Up Devizes Squad) have very generously given up some of their time over the past few weeks to bring the gardens into a much nicer state and have made a huge difference. This has improved the spirits of the staff on site as well as reinstating a lovely outdoor space for the people being cared for at the centre to use. It really has made a massive difference.
Devizes Community Engagement Manager Graeme Morrison said “We are really so grateful to CUDS for the work they have done so far at Bradbury Manor. It has made a huge difference to everybody who spends time at the centre.
We are keen to ensure that the garden doesn’t fall into a poor state again and it would be really useful to have a regular team of volunteers going in for a couple of hours once a week or even once a fortnight to help with a bit of weeding, lawn mowing and general tidying up. Everyone in Devizes is grateful for the work CUDS have done and what they do around the town and they have been stars here at Bradbury. However, I am conscious that we shouldn’t rely on the same faces everytime community projects require volunteers.
So, if you can spare some time, even if it is only an hour or two once a month, please get in touch and we can create a volunteer rota to help keep the outdoor space at Bradbury in a nice condition”
