Devizes Community Hub and Library will host a “Heat and Eat” workshop on Wednesday 9 May 2018.
The workshop is aimed at people aged 48 and over and who have recently experienced a period of transition that ipacts on their daily lives. Examples could be:
Loss of a partner
Change in financial circumstances
Mental health issues
The sessions runs for 2 hours and participants will prepare and cook a recipe which can be replicated using a slow cooker, for example, a cottage pie.
The group will discuss the advantages of a slow cooker and the ease of cooking with and look at where locally to source low cost containers for storage and show that by cooking more and freezing they have plenty of food for another day/week.
The group will also prepare a pudding for them to take home and cook.
During the session we make time for a comfort break and encourage talking to each other as this helps form new friendships.
Each participant will receive a slow cooker to take away with them.
Places are limited to 10 so please get in touch if you are interested. For more information or to register your place, please get in touch with by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 07825 223146.
