Devizes Festival of Winter Ales

The excitement is building as DOCA confirms this week that they have secured fantastic local talent and internationally renowned performers for the forthcoming DOCA fundraiser The Devizes Festival of Winter Ales, taking place on the 13th and 14th February.
“Lucky festival ticket holders are in for a treat!” says Artistic Director, Jo Beal. “We have a variety of live music and walkabout street theatre-style performances punctuating all 3 sessions which we hope Festival-goers will love – all adding to the uniquely DOCA flavour of the event.”
Confirmed acts to date include the extraordinary talents of local musicians Sid Bloomfiled, Lauren Castle, Ian O’Regan on Friday night, and the wonderful Eddie Witcomb, Paul Rogers, Pete Stearn and Benji Clements on Saturday.
In addition we are delighted to confirm that internationally renowned hire-wire walker, Chris Bull of The Bullzini Family – who locals will remember from his classic wire walk across the Market Square in 2013 – will be joining us on both Friday & Saturday. He has created a bespoke performance just for Festival ticket holders and will be performing during all sessions.
“This is an incredible coup for Devizes.” said DOCA’s new Outdoor Arts Manager, Jay Haigh. “You just don’t get to see performers of this calibre in such an intimate setting.”
Adult only tickets for the Festival are available for just £5.00 from Devizes Books, The British Lion, Wadworth Visitors Centre, The Vaults and online via DOCA’s website www.docadevizes.org.uk All profits from the event will contribute towards DOCA’s annual programme of street theatre, Carnival and lanterns.
