The Devizes Campus Development Team (CDT) have now completed the first consultation and were pleased to receive 375 responses. The key findings were as follows:
Over the coming months the Devizes CDT will be meeting with local Council service providers. The group are also looking to engage with voluntary and community sector organisations who may have an interest in using the Campus. Using the consultation data and the information from potential core, partner and voluntary services, the CDT will begin work on their Campus working proposal. Once this is completed they will bring this document back to the Area Board for comment.
|The CDT is also engaging with other Campus teams and representatives of the Royal Society for the encouragement of the Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA) in regard to issues such as social engagement in the Campus development, future funding and other related matters. An early meeting on these topics is in planning and outcomes will be reported at the next Area Board.
The proposed Devizes Community Campus will combine a range of core, partner and voluntary facilities and services for local people in one or more buildings. No location(s), services or facilities have been finalised. Once a proposal has been completed there will be further public consultation, which is likely to be in autumn 2014.
Background to Campus intitative
Wiltshire Council is working with local communities to develop exciting proposals for innovative community campuses across the county. Campuses will help deliver services which are value for money, tailored to local needs and influenced by local people and partners. This will ensure customers and their needs are at the heart of future plans. For the Devizes area the campus is being shaped and developed by local representatives called the Campus Development Team (CDT)
See the Wiltshire Council website for more information on the Devizes Community Campus.
